Rafting
Bali is well suited for wildwater activities, such as rafting. This is possible on the Ayung River in the vicinity of Ubud. Other rafting facilities are on the Telega Waja and Unda - river.
Scootering across the island
Bali is a small island, but it takes almost an hour by car, to cover a distance of 30 km. You can rent a car with a driver for about € 40,-- a day. It is cheaper to discover the island with our scooters, just like the Balinese do. Drive carefully, keep to the left and if you don’t trust the situation, don’t hesitate to stop on the verge of the road!
Hiking
Hiking is the best way to discover Bali, for those who take the time. Bali’s beautiful nature calls for some thorough hiking. Walk into the heart of the jungle, discover the rice paddies that stretch for miles and miles. Experienced local guides can escort you on your walking trails. Safe and secure! You can ask Anik for more information.
Climbing the Batur
This still active vulcano is a major sight of interest for the tourists on the island. Batur, 1771 mtr high, is a very active volcano and has erupted in 1804, 1917, 1926, 1963, 1974, 1994 and 1999. You can climb the Batur from Purajati and Kedisan.
Climbing the Agung

Climbing the 3142 metres high vulcano Gunung Agung can best be undertaken in the period from July uptil October. The climb is rather intensive, long and hazardous. Hiring a local guide is strongly recommended. There are three main trails up the mountain; one from the south, a second one from the southeast and the last one from the west. The latter one is the trail used most often because of its starting point Pura Besakih. The best time to climb the Agung is in the morning.
Golf
Do you play golf or would like to try? An hours drive away from the villa lies the 18-hole golfcourse of the “Bali Handara Kosaida Golf and Country Club”. This course is located in the mountains and is one of the most beautiful ones in Asia. As far as its exotic setting is concerned it is a true golfers paradise on earth. Because of the altitude (approx. 1100 metres) the temperature is very pleasant, with an average of 20°C. Around the course you can enjoy the splendid tropical flowers, plants and trees. The golfcourse was designed by the famous architect Peter Thompson.

Diving and snorkling
In front of Balis north shore lies an impressive coralreef. Thé toplocation of the island is Pulau Menjangan, a small island in the northwest about an hours drive away from Loka Residence. The underwater world there belongs to the best of the whole world. Another sight to see is the shipwreck of the USS Liberty near Tulamben in North Bali.
